About Us
Welcome to Code to the Castle! 🏰
Code to the Castle is an independently developed iPad game that turns learning to code into a fun puzzle adventure for kids aged 5 to 15.
In every level, you’ll find a road stretching from a car to a castle. The car drives forward on its own — your job is to tell it where to go! Drag arrows into the little program at the top of the screen, add loops to repeat moves, then hit Go and watch your program come to life, one step at a time.
The idea behind the game is simple: coding is best learned by playing. Every level is a hand-crafted puzzle where mistakes are part of the fun. Crashed the car? No problem! Change your program, try a different approach, and go again.
There’s almost no reading required, either. The game uses arrows, numbers and colourful icons, so even children who aren’t reading yet can play independently. And for older kids, there’s an extra challenge: every level has a par count, encouraging them to find clever solutions using loops rather than simply listing every move.

This game was made by one family.
Zelda
Car Designer, Bug Hunter and Level Designer
She drew the cars on paper. Then they turned into real 3D cars you can drive. She also helped test new ideas, and made and decorated many of the levels in the game.
Dexter
Chief Level Designer and Test Driver, Car Designer
He played every level. When something was confusing, we changed it. He also helped make the levels, and drew some of the cars you can see in the game. He loves thinking about new features and more fun ways to play.
Marcell
Architect and Programmer
He planned and wrote the code that makes the cars go. He has lots of ideas for making it even more fun.
Kitti
Project Manager, and the one who had the idea
She holds together the chaos that comes with making a game. She is also the one who came up with the idea of Code to the Castle.
Made by one family in Malta.
Thank you for playing. 🏰
